5.0 displays a number beside each link or button...Why. It is annoying.
Why is a number displayed beside each hyperlink, menu button, text box, etc on every page displayed? am using win 7 home premium 32 bit os. This is really annoying.

Sounds like you have an extension, but from your description, I don't know if you are looking at sequential numbers for links, or word/character counts withing text boxes.
Look at the extensions you have, you may have changed an option, or you may have installed a new extension lately. You can in Firefox 5.0 (and 4.*) look at the date last updated.
