FireFox Beta showed up on my computer; it replaced FireFox 5 macintosh; how do I get rid of it? I DID NOT KNOWINGLY DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL IT.
When I went to click on an icon in my menu bar, they were all gone. Then I checked my version of firefox and it said beta. I DID NOT WANT THIS. I don't know where it came from. I want it off. I want my old version back with all of my settings. How do I do this?
Chosen solution
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
- Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Thank you! I was afraid I was going to lose my settings, but they stayed! Thank you again!
