The CACHE Line no longer appears in the NETWORK tab of the ADVANCED SETTINGS option of TOOLS.
I no longer have access to the line that usually appears in the "OFFLINE STORAGE" section of the NETWORK tab under the ADVANCED icon of the OPTIONS setting under "TOOLS". I am using Firefox 5 & have never had this problem before. Only the CLEAR button shows up on the right hand side but the usual line showing the amount of cache being used on the left of the button does not appear.

I seem to see that using
- Firefox Button or Tools -> Options -> | Advanced | ->[-Offline Storage-]
- see Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox_network-tab
Possibly something is interfering
- try in Firefox's safe mode
- do not make changes on the first window, just click on continue
- use the default theme
- it may also help to disable all plugins
Note
Firefox 5 is no longer supported and not considered secure. It would be recommended you use the current public release which is Firefox 7.0.1
- see updating firefox
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
In PB mode the disk cache is disabled.
You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
