Why isn't the window i am working with automatically selected as the working window? I have to click inside the firefox window every time in order to get the home, page up and vice versa buttons to work A similar problem is in notepad, were the home buttons do nothing but lock the page in it's current place when i am trying to scroll up. I got rid of my page up/down and home buttons since they serve no purpose.

You may have switched on caret browsing.

You can press press F7 (on Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Accessibility: [ ] "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages"
