Lagging could simply be a slow Internet connection but high CPU is another matter. You could try disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings to see if it helps:

Right-click inside a Flash video .... such as the YouTube "help" video at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=YouTubeHelp ... and click on "Settings", then (on the first Display tab) uncheck "Enable hardware acceleration". See Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems under "Playing Flash videos makes Firefox hang" for details.
