My home page won't save

more options

I save my home page but if I close the window and open a new tab it goes back to the original home page. But guess what it will save and if I open a new window with that on open it will go to my set homepage. If i start without Fire Fox then it will go to the original. I've done everything I could think of. Please help.

Does it change back to the built-in Firefox home page (about:home) or to some other home page? You have some add-ons associated with changing Firefox settings, so the specifics may be helpful in diagnosing that.

Hi,

I'm a member of the Searchnu Support Team. I'm here to help :)

When the software was installed onto your pc it offered two basic installs, typical installation, which lists the add-on features such as searchnu default search, and Custom installation, which allows you to select the add-ons that you wish to install. There's no need to worry if you did the typical install - this isn't a virus, nor malware, and there's no need to Perform a virus scan against it.

If you wish to uninstall Searchnu Please follow the instructions below:

Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > look for windows searchnu toolbar > Uninstall

If you followed the instructions and still can't find a solution to the issue, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will walk you through it :)

Thank you, The Searchnu Support Team

I have the exact same problem, and uninstalling the Searchnu toolbar worked. I stopped using Firefox for a while and went back to internet explorer for this very reason. Why would Firefox use this toolbar?? If not for this thread, I would have quit using it all together. This is a horrible feature, because there is no way to fix it without having uninstall this toolbar. Bad move, Firefox  :(

Firefox does not offer this toolbar to anyone but it installs on itself. We're trying everything to help users who do not want the toolbar to uninstall it.

Okay, I thought I had fixed this problem, but I have not. I uninstalled search.us, but there was no program called "searchnu" to uninstall, and I'm still being brought back to this home page when I close the browser, and the toolbar is still there. HELP!

Hi jwesleywatson, try disabling ALL extensions here, except those you absolutely cannot live without:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

Then restart Firefox and any add-on toolbars should be gone. There still will be some cleanup to do, but without disabling or removing the problem add-ons, your fixes are likely to be undone by the add-on.
