Firefox has stopped playing videos on some web sites and will not display all graphics on others. Did get Windows error msgs before videos stopped.

A couple of times I got Windows error messages about a problem with Firefox and security but I do not remember the exact wording of the error message or what Windows disabled.

Now on some news sites I cannot play videos, this is also now happening on YouTube where I get an error message when I try to play a video.

I am also having problems on the Major League Baseball site with the browser displaying some graphics.

I have restarted Firefox several times and even restarted my computer but this has not resolved the problem.

Any ideas as to what has gone wrong or how to force Windows to display the error message again?

hello rsmith2000, this is likely a problem related to the latest update of the flash plugin - for common solutions of this problem please refer to Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox

Only security software (probably anti-virus software or the firewall) would show such a message if it was a Windows message, so you can check it there.

If it is a message from a Firefox extension then see this:

Turns out the Enable download and recording setting for Real Player was causing the video play problem and de-selecting it solved the problem, videos play just fine now. Funny thing is Firefox is not one of the browsers listed beneath the check box.
