How to get rid of the overlapped Firefox symbols on the taskbar
The large Firefox symbol on the left end of the task bar shows all windows being visited--including "private browsing" windows. This renders "private browsing" nearly useless imo. How can I remove this symbol?
Chosen solution
I noticed there is an extension which lets you clear the title of the current page or replace it with other text. This seems to work equally well in private and non-private windows, however, it doesn't appear to have an option to automatically do it in all private windows. Maybe someone can add that feature (the author isn't maintaining the add-on any more).

Firefox has two options for the Windows 7 task bar: list windows only, or list every tab in every window. I don't think there's an option to omit the private windows.
To show only windows rather than tabs, adjust the setting here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tab
uncheck Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar
Does that help at all?
