Earlier versions of FF had a command line option in the style of a 'b' after another character. In that case, I could edit and export bookmarks without having to start the main program with all its plug-ins.

Chosen solution

You can use the -chrome command line switch to open such special windows like the Bookmarks Manager (Library) via the command line.

  • chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
  • chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul

  • "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -chrome chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
