I want tabs that open links I click on to appear at the end (far right) of my browser. Is there a way to control ordering of tabs?

I find it confusing that when I click on a link, the new tab for that link opens somewhere in the middle of my line of tabs. I would prefer that new tabs would appear and the end (far right) of the tab lineup. I see no way of controlling the order of tabs in Firefox. Is there a way to accomplish what I want?

Chosen solution

Type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter.

Answer yes.

Filter = browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

Double-click that preference to toggle it to False.

Then restart Firefox.

Tabs will open on the right side of the active tab by default, not the far right side of all tabs.

Try updating to the most recent version of Firefox.

Please update to a modern version of Firefox, like Firefox 24. The version you have is horribly ancient.

The-edmeister, you're a genius! It worked! Thank you, thank you!

As for the rest of you, I've already explained in another thread, exhaustively, why I am unable at this time to upgrade to a more current version of Firefox. People on dial-up connections have a particular set of problems they have to deal with. Enough said.
