I've been having this problem for the past 2 days, whenever Firefox opens up a windows explorer window it would completely freeze, so whenever I try saving an image, browsing for a file/folder and so on. The problem only started yesterday evening, but I hadnt added any add ons to firefox, plugins nor installed any new software on my pc. I've tried leaving firefox alone when it did freeze to see if it sorted itself out, but when I went to check on it 4 hours later it was still frozen.

My current OS is Windows Vista, with a fresh install of the latest Firefox. Before I reinstalled I tried running in safe mode, reseting Firefox and deleting my history, none of which worked, nor did the fresh install solve my problem.

I've just done a virus sweep of my PC and it seems the problem has been fixed, if anyone else is having this problem scan your pc for viruses and get rid of them, hopefully the problem should dissapear like it did for me.

I've just realised that the problem may lie with Vista rather than firefox, as I've noticed when I was using Chrome I was having the same problem. A few tests later and it seems the same thing happens in Internet Explorer as well.

I'll do a sweep for viruses on my pc, update drivers and defrag my hard drive, and see if I'm still having the same problem.
