Firefox returns to previous page when i open a new tab

If I am on a webpage and then open a new webpage most of the time Firefox returns to page I am on when I opened the new webpage.

This is very frustrating and I am getting sick of this.

I have tried to research the internet about this problem several times over the last 10 months and can never find any answers to this problem.

Hope whoever you or you people are I sure hope you can help me.

First, please ensure that you do not have an add-on installed that will override your settings for the new tab page.

If you do not, please try the following steps:

  1. Go to about:config in Firefox
  2. Locate the browser.newtab.url string
  3. Change the value of the string to about:home, about:blank or about about:newtab
  4. Restart Firefox

This should repair the issue, but please write back if it doesn't.
