How do I run Firefox with the top most bar which has the Firefox logo on left and the "minimize window", maximize" and the "X" that closes the window? (Windows 7 - 64 bits and Linux).

Thanks!

hello, i'm not entirely sure if i understood your question correctly, but maybe see: Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar

another thing that need your attention: please update your plugins (some of them are out-dated & have security vulnerabilities that are actively exploited on the web).

While typing I missed a word in my original posting and then could not edit it! :-(:-(

What I need is - to run Firefox without the top most bar at all. I don't need that but could use the space. This is the very top of the browser which on the left has the picture of the "firefox" - a fox over glowing fox over the globe or some such thing, on the right the minimize, maximize and close (with the 'x') options. I would like to display Firefox with that bar completely removed. Thanks. I am updating the add-on's as I write this - thanks for noticing it and bringing it to my attention. - shankar

if you want to save space you could try this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tabs-always-in-titlebar/

Firefox's "full screen" view does that automatically. You can use the F11 function key to enter and exit full screen mode.

By default, the tab bar and Navigation Toolbar also are hidden in full screen view. To keep those displayed, move your mouse pointer to the top of the screen and they should slide down temporarily. Right-click a blank area of the tab bar or right-click the new tab ("+") button and uncheck "Hide Toolbars". When you move your mouse away, they should stay on the screen.

Is that closer to what you're looking for?

On Windows you might also be able to achieve this by running Firefox in a maximized window and setting the browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar pref to true on the about:config page.

This isn't possible on Linux. There you can only use full screen mode to hide the title bar.
