A new laptop, Firefox 4. No bookmarks bar. "Help" tells me to open the Firefox window and click on the Firefox logo at the top. Well, there are many "Firefox windows" and none have a Firefox logo to click.

Let me try again: my home page is Google. If I ask Google about Firefox, it will of course show many references. Of these, the basic(?) reference is to the download page. Clearly, that is not what you mean. But there are many other pages, each of which has a URL. One, or perhaps several, will offer a page where <Alt> or <F10>, will help me load a bookmarks bar that I can see when I'm on my Google home page. Can you provide me with one such URL?

Hold the CTRL key and press b for Bookmarks Sidebar

this is a Short key for opening your Bookmarks Sidebar at the left-side of your Google page

Many thanks for that.

Now all I need are the URL and keystrokes to put the "File Edit View Hist Book TOOLS ..." bar at the top of the page when I'm in Google.

Again, much obliged!

-> Right-click on empty space above the Location Bar (where you type Google.com)

-> select (place Checkmarks on) Menu Bar and Navigation Toolbar

Check and tell if its working.

Perhaps it's my turn to help someone.

If you are in full-screen mode, as you are likely to be with a laptop, the suggestion above won't work. In fact, you may not be in full-screen mode at all. This is true if there is only a tiny space above the "address" bar, where one types or pastes the URL/address. But a right click on that narrow space will drop a menu down with two items: "Hide ..." and "Exit Full-screen mode". Uncheck "Hide ..." and click on "Exit ..."

NOW you are looking at the full screen, reduced in size so you can see it all. There will be the bar that includes TOOLS. If you don't see it, right-click and choose from a drop-down listing the bars and click on the one you want to see all the time. You'll now see it in your home page.

If you have a laptop, you may not want bars taking up limited text or image space. In that case, find and click "Hide..." and the bar will disappear. However, you need only run your mouse up to the top of the screen for it to reappear and wait for your mouse-click.

And again, thanks mha007, for your patience and good advice.
