On several web pages, when i try to log into the accounts i have on those websites or account creations, when i try to click "Continue" or "Log in" or what ever may be the case to actually finish the process, the button will not actuate. I have tried on Microsoft edge and it works with no notable issue.(It just is slow because its Edge. lol) I dont have an adblock going of or anything of the sort that appears to be blocking the operation. When I open a web page with a video in it, the video generally starts to look like the attached screenshot. It usually happens within 30 seconds, and then it will occasionally clear up for 10 seconds, but otherwise, it's just a shifting swirl of green.

Does not happen in other browsers.

Reproducible slow (30 seconds) DNS resolution on Ubuntu 24.04

I use Firefox 134.0.2 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 24.04.

Some (not all) web sites show up only after a delay of exactly 30 seconds. The attached screenshot shows that this delay is due to DNS resolution. This behavior is reproducible by simply closing Firefox, opening it again and entering the same web site once more. Once this initial delay of 30 seconds for DNS resolving has passed the web site can be browsed normally.

Using Google Chrome, Opera or even the Tor Browser on the same system works without any significant delay. Also a DNS lookup from the console returns data almost immediately.

As the delay is always exactly 30 seconds this looks like some DNS resolver timeout only showing up when using Firefox.

Neither starting Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode nor (as often suggested) disabling IPV6 for DNS by setting network.dns.disableIPv6 to true did help.

Any idea how to fix this 30 seconds delay?

Many thanks for any help, Felix

This will happen and cause the page to stall, not load, which is especially bad on a page with a download link or if it's a search engine. The highlighted part of the attached image is an example of which part of the URL flashes incredibly fast - appearing and disappearing.

I just recently had an instance of the url bar typing the same word and deleting it over and over again at the end of the address. I was watching the word "drawers" appear as if I was typing it myself, letter by letter.

Refreshing doesn't help and will refresh the previous page because the faulty link will carry over to the next page if it's on a search engine for example.

hi, I tried on more time to switch fro Chrome to Firefox, but hit another snag. Some websites allow you to read more contents if you turn off Java script. On Chrome, there is an easy way to block Java script for individual web sites, under Privacy&Security, Site settings, but not on Firefox. How can I for example block Java script for https://www.energyvoice.com or https://www.nytimes.com.

If this does not reach the correct department, please forward or let me know how to contact them. Thank you, Jon Borresen j.borresen@outlook.com

I've noticed that when video media begins to play, it often suddenly slows down the entire browser's processing ability and cuts to strange visual glitches limited to just the video window, usually green and pink pixelated glitches. This doesn't happen on YouTube, nor does it happen when I use other browsers like Edge. I'm on Windows 11, using the latest Firefox version, with Strict privacy settings and a reliable and simple adblock. Had the same setup on a previous Windows 10 laptop and did not have these issues. It's getting frustrating and is impacting my experience with this browser across multiple websites. I refuse to switch back to sketchy, predatory browsers like Chrome and Edge, so I hope this can be fixed, either on my end or on Mozilla's. Thanks! (Attached a screenshot of the visual glitches.)

What is the easiest way to import the current state of Safari into Firefox? Would like to create the same set of windows, with each window having the same set of tabs, if possible. I did a bit of googling but no success with what I found.

I really want to avoid manually creating all the same things one by one by one...

I'm not talking about importing all the history and passwords and other stuff - the actual windows and tabs.

Thanks...

-bob

ps - would like it to work with current release of Firefox, aka 134.02 on Sequoia and Ventura versions of macOS, as well as Firefox 115.19.0esr on an older macOS Mojave system.

Lately more than once, i face pages which does not load at all makes me spend time checking from server side, and its end working normally with Chrome, but not with firefox, for instance i ran a hashivault in ec2 , i am able to access it using chrome, but with firefox it never open giving error:

The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

please advise, thanks.
