I went to the instruction on this website to move Thunderbird from one computer to a new computer. I copied the "Thunderbird folders from both Appdata Local and Roaming. I then installed Thunderbird on the new computer and when I got to the point were it was asking to setup a new account I closed Thunderbird. I then replaced the the Thunderbird folders on the new computer with the folders from the old computer.

I restarted the program(Thunderbird) and all I get is an empty page.

Do the instructions need to be update with this new 138esr version? Or have I done something wrong.

I have the settings option for updates set to notify me and let me decide if I want to install.

So, imagine my surprise when I discovered today that Firefox has updated my browser without notifying me and without my permission.

No, this is not my imagination. I have a very distinct process to installing updates so it is very easy to tell that the browser has been updated without my permission.

Who should I complain to?

There must have been an update for Thunderbird that screwed up the way I have been using Thunderbird for years now. I had sub folders under inbox. For example, I had an investment newsletter go into a sub folder under inbox labelled "inv". I had a filter set up to move emails that had the name of the newsletter in the title to go to that "inv" folder. In this new version of Thunderbird, those separate sub folders are gone. The filters are still there but the folders are gone. Now all emails just go into the inbox. Is there a way to roll back to a previous version?

TIA Eric
