For years I had the add-on "forecast fox" that would show my local weather in the bottom bar. Now it is disabled for the last several versions and there are no other weather add-ons available. Are you going to start charging for this or something? It's most annoying to have to open up a separate tab to see what the temp is now or going to be for the next several days. I am a gardener and that is very important information to me for planning my days.

You need an extension like CTR to restore the Add-on toolbar if you have an extension that uses this toolbar.

You can try this add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1-clickweather/

I don't know why Mozilla said it has been discontinued. I have been using it for years and still have it on my status bar, showing my local weather info.

You might want to go through the reviews, maybe somewhere there will tell you how to fix it. I think that's what I did, but it has been so long ago, I don't remember how, sorry.

And my version is 1.1.9.4, not 1.1.9.1 as indicated in the link.

Thank you both for your suggestions, I tried them both and I do have the add-on bar back, but I am still getting a message for both the Firefox cast and the 1-click weather add on are incompatible with Firefox 30.0 and the only option offered me for the firefox cast is to remove it.

I still have the installation file for 1-Click Weather 1.1.9.4 which I have been using it with all previous and current (30.0) versions of Firefox. But I don't know how to send it to you.

Any ideas from other forum volunteers?

Did you install the extension by clicking the button on the Add-ons page?

A lot of extensions only work if there is a compatibility check done on the update server because the maxVersion in the install.rdf file usually only gets updated if a new version of the extension gets released. otherwise only the compatibility data on the update server is adjusted for each new version.

I will probably delete this, because hitting enter when you are emotional is a really bad idea, but jeez, this is the very least helpful response I think I have ever received, second only to being ignored.

Yes, I installed the add-on by cllcking the button on the add-on page. I was completely unaware that there was any other way to do it. Whether or not you consider this a good thing or not and think I may have done it some other way and messed it up, or that I should do it some other way and then it would work, is unclear to me.

Your second paragraph makes no more sense to me than if you had written it in Russian; less actually, because if it was in Russian I could run it through Google Translate. All it tells me is that you are an expert and I am stupid. I do not see in the least how it gets me my weather info back.

I am a long time user of computers who discovered back in the 1990s that programming is not for me. I don't want to know why it doesn't work, just that there is a clear way to fix it. It appears not. Please just say so.

I only have three add-ons; and the last Firefox update disabled one of the other ones (Roboform password manager), but fortunately Roboform quickly came out with a fix after I spent a couple of days fuming and looking for another web browser to change to.

I hestitated to click "no" to the question about whether or not your reply was helpful, because I didn't want to hurt your feelings and you are really trying to help, which I appreciate, but I am going ahead and doing it.

Please note that Add-ons are third-party programs. It is not Mozilla's responsibility to make sure that they will continue working. We won't purposely try to break your add-ons, but that does happen (like the case with Roboform). If the add-on breaks, it's the responsibility of the add-on maker to fix it.

Can you please summarize the current state of your problem with ForecastFox?
