When I navigate to Tools -> Account Settings, Thunderbird freezes and simply beeps with no action when I click anywhere in the app.

I'm unable to access my account settings. When I attempt to access account settings by navigating Tools-> Account Settings, TB freezes and simply beeps from that point forward when I click anywhere within the application. I must close TB via the TaskManager and reopen. Any remedies appreciated. Thanks

what happens in safe mode? Hold the shift key while you start Thunderbird.
