Thunderbird states "1 unread email", but by using filter "unread", no emails are given

On the left hand side, the words "Postvak In" (= Inbox) is in bold. It also states (1), meaning there is 1 unread email.

When I use the filter "unread emails", no emails are given, meaning there are no unread emails.
