I had to reset firefox, now my speedbit DAP will not work as an add on even though it was fine previously, is there a way to restore from the old firefox data file that was created.

If you used the Refresh Firefox feature to reset Firefox, then your profile has been restored to the default, meaning that all of your extensions have been removed.

Refreshing Firefox should have created a folder on your desktop called "Old Firefox Data". This contains a copy of your old [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data|Firefox profile] and you should just be able to copy the files within that folder into your current Firefox profile.
