My toolbar doesn't appear when I open up, so I can't 'write' new e-mails?

When I open up my computer (Microsoft) and then select Thunderbird icon, all my messages appear but no 'Toolbar' so I can't select, for example,"Write". How do I install the toolbar. This thunderbird programme was set up for me by the organisation I bought the new Laptop from.

Chosen solution

Press alt or F10 to see a menu. In that Menu, you can go to View|Toolbars and tick the checkboxes.

Oh, and ctrl+n will open a new message.
