How do I add folders to keep e-mails after I've opened and read them, like "weddings," "friends," "family," "medical," etc?

I had multiple folders in Eudora where I kept old e-mails (in and out) for easy reference. Also, I just noticed that my Inbox was dumped into my Trash box without my permission. I like keep tons of old mail in my Inbox as a library.

Chosen solution

Choose the folder in which you want to create a subfolder. Then…

  • Right-click, select New Folder (or New Subfolder).
  • Or use the menu. File|New… No menu? Press alt or F10.

I don't understand keeping messages in the Inbox. I want to be able to easily see new messages, so anything worth keeping is filed into subfolders. My Inbox is my "needs attention" folder.
