I recently re-loaded a new copy of Windows 10 after having used a downloaded free copy for some time. I lost my Windows Live Mail program and found it difficult to download a new copy. I now have no Thunderbird contacts but still have the contacts file in my user folder. How can I import these contacts into Thunderbird?

Chosen solution

1. Export your contacts from the Contacts folder by clicking Export and selecting vCards (folder of vcf files).

2. Install the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook add-on in TB (how to install).

3. Open Address Book, select an address book (not All Address Books), then Tools/MFFAB/Actions for contacts/Import vCard/vcf, and select the vcf files (Ctrl-A to select All).

I can't understand your instructions, I'm thick, I'll have to enlist the help of a friend. Thanks anyway, I'll report back later.

Thank you. I must have overlooked the WLM Import/Export on the Contacts page. I used the CSV file and it worked great.
