Everytime I launch firefox or a new firefox window a mini window opens up as well. It is always for "weeklycomputingidea.blogspot.com" . I have the site blocked but the window keeps opening up. I have tried using spyware, malware, virus, etc. and nothing seems to work to keep it from opening up.

Which programs have you tried using for removal?

Usually such issues direct to either malware or adware. Here are a couple of steps that might help you solve the issue:

For maximum success, I recommend launching your computer in safe mode with networking. You can do that by restarting your computer and holding SHIFT during the boot time. Afterward, you should see an option to launch in safe mode with networking.

  1. Check if the Firefox doesn't have any shady plugins installed. Or in general, plugins that you didn't install yourself. If there are any, remove them.
  1. Install Malwarebytes and do a scan, which usually helps you to remove all of the major adware and malware issues.
  1. You can do an additional scan with hitman pro and see if that still detects any left issues.
  1. Restart your PC and do an extra scan with Malwarebytes or any other anti-virus solution of your choice

That should remove any malware and adware. For future prevention of such issues, I recommend being aware what links you are clicking and what files you are downloading. If you think it's a shady link or a file, avoid clicking in. Good luck!

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.
