I can normally go to this site:

http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/zmw:35236.1.99999

but now, possibly after using malware or spybot yesterday, when I pick that address, the browser works for a moment, then changes and opens to:

https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/al/birmingham/35236

It was working correctly yesterday. Ironically, this same problem came up a week or two ago and lasted for about a week, then began working correctly again.

Chosen solution

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Thanks. I tried 1st things 1st from your list, namely clearing history, cookies and cache, but I did a limited version and it worked:

1. I chose "show all history" from the menu, chose the month of August, then searched the history for "wunderground" and deleted all of those points. 2. I did the "clear recent history", chose everything in the time range, and picked cookies and cache. 3. I shut down and reopened Firefox and tried my address and it worked.

INTERESTINGLY, the address still changes as noted above (perhaps it has done this for a long time), but it still allowed me to set certain parameters on the screen that were not even present before doing items 1-3. That was the real problem - that I could not get the weather showing in the manner I wanted. Before the fix, some things were not even on the screen and there were no options to pick them.

I've been using this wunderground website for so long, I've had to go through when they changed before - for a time some years ago I had to "classic" but later they eliminated that view altogether. So, I then picked my new arrangement and it seems as though they let me continue to use it but if you notice, they change part of the address from "/weather-forecast/..." to "/weather/us/al/...".

Strange how their screens are different - before the fix, not even offering changing to tabular form of data, just the cutsie graphical, low information style, quick glance for the temp and weather NOW style before getting this fixed. Now, after the fix, my screen doesn't even offer the style I don't like.

There seemed to be no ill behavior before the fix other than I could not get the data I wanted in the manner I wanted to see it.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

That was very good work. Well done.

Unfortunately, the problem is back and the solution no longer works.

Apparently, it was not a problem I was having at all. It seems in their wisdom, wunderground is in the process of changing their website.

The website looks different! Where's the forecast? Why the change? ← General

We've released a new update to the site. The forecast graph is still available under "10-Day" and the table format is under "Hourly". Each section is now on separate tabs rather than a single long scrolling page. This will make the experience more consistent across all platforms.

We're still working out some kinks and improving page loading speed. Once we're complete, the site will be much faster.''

Too many sites are changing to big, cute icons with little info. I guess it's a combo of trying to fit on the tiny phone screens (I only use a laptop) and dummying down.

It's so nice when they tell you things like this, after everyone gets problems that need to be worked out.
