Dear To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Tushar Chowhan. I am having problem while syncing my firefox account. My bookmarks are all gone. They aren't showing or coming back. Please help me.

This was my last sync on other computer :

Tushar’s Firefox on Tushar-Desktop Last sync over 3 months ago in Bangladesh

But the bookmarks from this sync aren't showing or coming back. Please help me out here.

I have also added a picture of my device of which synced bookmarks aren't showing. I need the bookmarks form the highlighted pic. How do I log into my previous synced bookmarks on the synced servers? I really need those bookmarks badly.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync while performing maintenance/repair efforts to files in the Firefox profile folder. Once you have fixed the bookmarks and you want to use Sync again then best is to reconnect one device at the time and wait for the initial Sync to finish before connecting another device.

Do you have any older bookmarks to restore?

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

See also:

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

I installed new OS on my desktop. So all are gone. That's why I wanted to access my previous bookmarks on the sync cloud server of firefox. Is there really no way to access my own sync account or to even check my whole bookmark history of the past through online or through the internet?? !!!!

There is only one set of bookmarks on the Sync server and that are the bookmarks of the currently connected device. If those bookmarks were not merged with the bookmarks of your current device then it is likely that your data on the Sync server got overwritten and is lost. If you can't access any of the other devices that show in the screenshot because they no longer exist then there is probably nothing you can do. The old devices can show because you didn't disconnect them, but merely deleted the Firefox profile they used if you can no longer access these devices. This only means that the Sync server thinks that data on other devices hasn't been updated to the data present on the Sync server.
