There is a program that I've used for several years and really like, but it isn't compatible with Firefox Quantum
A program that I actually found in Firefox add on's more than several years ago I really like and don't want to lose, but when I upgraded Firefox I lost it. I found out it isn't compatible with Firefox Quantum so I would like to know how to go back out of Quantum and what difference it will make.

Can you share the name of the extension that stopped working? Perhaps there is a replacement for it.
This article discusses using older versions of Firefox: Install an older version of Firefox.
The program was Super Start and I've tried the replacements and they are nothing like Super Start, don't like them.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/super-start/ The Developer left this on the site : For Fx57 users, it will take me some days to study the new 'webextension' technology to update this extension. 20017/11/16
Since the person had not updated the program since 2015 will take him awhile to rewrite the code if it is allowed for Firefox.
Going back over 1 extension.............. Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 and below is no longer safe to use for every day use do to secuity issues, but 52.5.3 ESR. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: *https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.
You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because:
