I am trying to add a new email account in TBird. T Bird recognizes the account but when I type in the address and password, TBird says one or both are wrong. But they aren't. I've got the account up and running fine in Outlook, but I much prefer TBird. Any ideas?

What kind of account are you trying to set up - POP or IMAP?
