How to transfer contact lists from old computer to new
I have a contact list on my old computer where I used Microsoft Live Mail. I need to transfer that address list to my new computer where I am using Thunderbird. How do I do this? Thank you for our time and attention to this Michael Dietz

You need to export the data in CSV format, then import it in Thunderbird.
From this Microsoft documentation:
- Open Windows Live Mail.
- Click Contacts folder, click Export button and select comma separated values (.CSV).
- In the CSV Export window click browse and select the Desktop folder.
- Type WLMContacts in the file name and then click the Save button.
- Click Next and select all the fields that you want to export, click Finish button and wait for the export process to be completed.
Note: The most common fields are First Name, Last Name, Email address and Telephone. If you are not sure about the information just select all the fields.
See this previous question/solution for more details on importing into Thunderbird, you may need to cleanup the resulting CSV file first.
Thank you Fabian. However my old computer had crashed and I lost the Live Mail application. My actual ISP is Wildblue/Excede/Viasat. I think they are using Zimbe as the email source. Looking on the Contacts option under the WildBlue email program I do not have an export, just 1102 contacts. I can copy those contacts to another folder. Is there any software that will reformat these entries into the CSV format. I can try just copying them into the WLMContacts file and see if that works. Again thank you Michael Dietz
