Restore Dismissed Top Sties?

more options

I was wondering if there is a way to restore Top Sites thumbnails/sites that I have removed using the "Dismiss" button?

I've noticed that sites I've used the "Dismiss" button on no longer appear in the Top Sites section even after I've cleared my browser's history and have gone back to them repeatedly.

Will this same problem happen if I use the "Delete From History" option? Or will they return once I re-enter them into the address bar?

Any help anyone could provide in restoring these without having to do a browser refresh would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't delete history. Go here:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste blocked and pause while the list is filtered

(3) The browser.newtabpage.blocked preference contains a weird code for each URL you blocked from the new tab page. I have no idea how to figure out which one is which, but you can empty the list using

right-click > Reset

on the preference.

Sorry, that's all I've got.

Note for anyone else reading: if you don't have this preference, you probably haven't dismissed any tiles from the new tab page yet.
