I want to sync the passwords on computer B to computer A. How do I make sure that the info goes from B to A, and not A to B?
My saved passwords disappeared on my laptop. They are still on my tablet, however, so I want to sync them from the tablet to the laptop. I don't want to mess up and lose them on my tablet, too...so need to know how to make sure they sync from tablet to laptop, not laptop to tablet.

Go to Options and click Firefox Account present at the left side of your screen. You can also type - about:preferences#sync and hit enter. In the sync settings, check the ones that you want to sync and uncheck the others. In your case, you don't want to sync passwords from laptop to tablet, so uncheck Logins

Let me make sure I'm understanding correctly. I want to uncheck Logins on my tablet, and check Logins on my laptop (since I want to sync from my tablet to my laptop)? Or is it vice-versa?

If you uncheck Logins on tablet, and check Logins on laptop, Sync will be Laptop to Tablet.

Note that you can't set the Sync direction. The data from all connected devices is uploaded to the Sync server and data on the Sync server is merged to other connected devices. Sync isn't meant to be used as a backup and it isn't guaranteed that you can recover data from another device. Always best is to backup your personal data locally.
Thanks, cor-el, for that clarification.
