Last night ( Nov 28,'18), my outlook.live .com ( hotmail) email account was changed to their new format. Since then,I cannot open any emails - when I click on an email in my inbox, it disappears and I need to reload the page to see the inbox again. Also none of the buttons ( delete, reply, forward etc) work. This happens even if I load Firefox in Safe mode, and also if I disable all the plug-ins I am able to do everything in this email account if I use IE and Chrome as the browser, but I really prefer Firefox.

I am using Firefox 63.0.3, and Windows 7

Please help Thanks

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

There are also e-mail browser programs that you can use like Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird.

Hi maillis, is there a "new new" layout? It's difficult to keep up with the changes...

Could I suggest as a workaround trying the Reading Pane? That is a panel that splits the space with the Inbox list and lets you read messages without overlays or popups. I'm attaching a screenshot of where you find that in the Quick Settings (gear button on the top row).

Re' the Reading pane--- unfortunately none of the buttons-links- are working; so when I click on the stetting button, nothing happens. 2. re' cookies,cache,hardware acceleration etc: I have done all that, and more and as I wrote in the post, running Firefox in safe mode, doesn't correct the issue. But, thanks for trying to help. I doubt I'm the only person with this problem

Does this happen if you use IE for the email access?
