I had 300+ tabs open when Firefox crashed. When I reopened, all my tabs were gone.

Restore previous session did not work. I followed the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1247052 and looked for a backup file at C:\Users\shelby\Desktop\rhwqzled.default\sessionstore-backups, but I only see two file names that start with recovery -- recovery.jsonlz4 and recovery.baklz4 -- and both of them show a date/time stamp that is after the crash, so I assume these won't help. Do I have any other options?

Don't delete the files if you need to rescue any data from them, just move them out of the profile folder to some location where Firefox doesn't look for them. You can try to read out their contents using this tool: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html

Why are you locking on the Desktop for the profile folder? Did you use the Profile Manager to create the profile folder on the desktop?

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Hi Fred - thank you! I used the scrouger tool to create a new .js file, then replaced the current sessionstore.js file with this new file. But now I can't figure out how to restore from the new file. The "Restore Previous Session" option has disappeared from the Library menu...

Hi! Yes, I found the profile folder. But I can't figure out how to get information from that folder and use it to reopen all of my tabs that disappeared this morning. Any more hints?

Can anyone else offer any suggestions? I'm very frustrated and getting tired of Firefox screwing up my tabs. I don't want to switch to Chrome, but OTOH, Chrome has never lost all my tabs. Any suggestions?
