How to recover a specific calendar task description from a backup file?

I apparently deleted a task in my calendar without noticing it. I had a lot of important data in the description field. By chance I did a backup of my computer yesterday. Since I do not want to restore a full backup of my calendar (many tasks updated since yesterday), I want to find where the task description of a specific task is stored so I can access it tomorrow.

(I found and opened the local.sqlite file and there found a list of tasks, due date etc. in the 'cal_todos' table but not the description field for each task).

--> By the way, it would be good to reactivate the project of offering a fix for avoiding unintentional deletion of a task: either asking a confirmation before executing, or putting them in a temporary trash folder or something.

Thank you for your help!

I can't answer the matter of restoring the task, but you can force confirmation for deletion of calendar items with the ConfirmBeforeDelete add-on (see picture).

You could try creating a new profile from Help/Troubleshooting, about:profiles, and copy the calendar-data folder from your backup into the new profile folder. I see that the calendar-data folder also has a deleted.sqlite file.

Do yourself a favor and find a REAL calendar application elsewhere, lightning is the worst software I have ever seen and there are no instructions on how to restore from a backup even if you can confirm that you actually have the updated data. You will find something about the calendar properties which has a location field, but there is no instruction that I can find that talks about how that is used, just a caveat on changing it if you don't know what you are doing. NEVER AGAIN, Hard drives do occasionally fail and I have lost all my calendar data even though I must have 20 separate BACKUPS of it including THE MOST CURRENT DATA ! This is a joke, nothing more !
