How do you get images to display inline within questions and answers here on FireFox help?

more options

I used to see a feature in a question/answer editor here at FireFox help that allowed images to be displayed inline instead of only as thumbnails at the end of an answer or as links in the text of an answer. I saw answers with inline images today. How do you do that? Attached image shows what I mean. The attached image also is an example of an image not displaying inline.

Do you know a little HTML coding? You can manually -- yes, typing and pasting -- embed an image using an img tag. Here's an example. use the little 3-dot menu to quote this reply to see how it was done:

I suggest adding a restrictive width to wider images or they might be cut off. That said, you cannot use style or most other attributes in HTML tags in posts here. Most are ignored. You can use Preview Reply a lot to decide how to handle that.

P.S. After attaching an image, do not left-click it: that will abandon your post and you'll need to redraft it. Instead, use right-click > Copy Link Location to get the URL of the full-sized image.

I tried the img tag. The post where I did that was sent to moderator for approval.

I wonder if that connects another question I wanted to ask. I put up a question here that gets no responses. another that is getting no responses. Maybe the presence of html within a post..

Or maybe.......................

Some of my efforts in the cominglement of actual substance laughables with genuine help items might have prompted assignment to the mods queue. It is not happening to all my posts.

Come to think of it, I attempted html beyond the img tag. I tried linking to .css file on my domaijn.

Hi firefox195, there is now a moderation queue due to a link spam in recent months. Any post with a URL (except within this site, I think) is delayed from appearing until moderation is complete.

I see your previous question here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1296747

I think that is just a really difficult question to answer.

Thank you very much for offering a comment on that question. This comment surprises me a lot. I figured this behavior must be well known and there must be some kind of well-known cause and an explanation of why it has not been resolved. I have noticed this behavior (browser slowing down after hours of heavy use) for at least five years. Posting this with a few more thoughts on the question where this is the subject.
