so i was wondering if you delete something in history where does it go? how can i make sure its deleted and also how can i save history to a different computer? someone said you can save your profile and transfer it over but they said you might have to create another profile but if you have to create another one does that mean it will still work?

Once you close the browser, the deleted entry is lost. Before closing it could be restored.

There is no direct option to save history. Only bookmarks. You can use sync to share the data.

If you delete history then it is gone immediately. With bookmarks there is a Undo feature in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but this isn't possible for History. Note that Windows may keep older (shadow) copies of places.sqlite that stores bookmarks and history as part of a System Restore Point.

You would have to keep a backup of places.sqlite and look at this Nirsoft utility.

im not sure you answered my question what im saying is if i go to history and delete something does it go to my recycle bin? like does it just disappear or is it in some place in my computer?

you say if i delete history then it is gone immediately but is it really? everyone knows that when you delete something with recycle bin its not really deleted so is it really gone?

no way to save history? first of all go to the settings and click remember history, second of all you can save your profile folder and keep your history

Deleted history doesn't go to the recycle bin. History you delete is removed from the places.sqlite database and that is it. This doesn't mean that all references to deleted pages are are gone as data may still be stored elsewhere. Firefox has the "Forget About This Site" feature for history that removes more, but this still keeps bookmarked pages..

Note that the recycle bin is used by the computer system. Not the programs on that system.
