Accessing gmail account with two-step verification
I routinely use Thunderbird to access my three gmail accounts. Google have recently introduced two-step verification on one of these accounts - after I put in my password it sends a message to my mobile asking me to verify my identity. I am now unable to get in to this account via Thunderbird, presumably because Thunderbird can't handle the extra login step. It says I need an "application-specific password". I have no problems with my other two gmail accounts - though if Google introduce two-step verification on these I'll presumably not be able to get into them via Thudnerbird either. As far as i know I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird - I certainly get auomatic updates.
Can anybody help? John

Hello,
Just to make sure, you do use the authentication method OAuth2 for these accounts, correct?
If not, please go to the settings for all of them and change the setting to OAuth2. A Google login page will pop up.
OAuth2 is a method that google employs to make a secure login method, with the advent of the app not being able to access anything that isn't approved, and to allow you to disallow access at any time without changing your password.
