How can I get rid of AWFUL new bookmarks that are double spaced

I almost did not recognise my toolbar after seemingly an unattended install. It is extremely annoying with this wasteful double space harrange in the bookmarks toolbar on the browser menu. Why on earth do you want to add such large whitespace between bookmark entries ?

Show the issue. What OS? Is your distro on Firefox 96.0.2?

Try downloading another copy of Firefox, run it from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
