Firefox opening way too slow

more options

For the past 2 days, Firefox is ridiculously slow in opening; 45 minutes yesterday, 25 minutes today. What is going on? How do I fix this? If it continues for another day or two, I'm switching to Chrome, because I can't put-off the start of my workday for much longer; it's unacceptable.

To adjust the cache size, visit “about: preferences#advanced,” click the Network tab, and check “Override cache management.” Note: It is a good idea to clear your Firefox cache periodically, especially when the page load speed gets slow. You can clear the cache on a PC, or clear cache on a Mac as well.
