Removing the mute function on tabs while keeping the sound icon

more options

Hello, when many tabs are open, the mute button takes up almost the entire tab. When I go to a tab, I get to the mute button... https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2025-03-01-03-07-42-491a45.png Is it possible to remove this function on the tab, but leave the sound icon itself? So that when I click on the sound icon, the tab is switched to instead of mute?

Beyond what customization you can do to the browser any changes beyond that is either a userChrome.css or 3rd party software to do that.

Normal tabs usually have a minimum width of 76 pixels, which you can reduce to 50 in about:config. Both should leave space next to the mute/unmute icon to click the tab. Example screenshot comparison attached.

Are those pinned tabs? Pinned tabs show the icon only (Pinned Tabs - keep favorite websites open and just a click away).

Or are you using userChrome.css rules to narrow your tabs beyond the available settings? In that case, check with your rules provider on whether they have code available for this that works with the code you already use.
