How do I restore bookmarks with firefox sync when the computer that originally synced them is dead, gone, and completely non0functional?

My laptop died over the weekend and is completely hosed. It was using firefox sync. I have the sync key. I just want to restore the bookmarks from it onto my new machine, but it doesn't seem to work at all. I entered the sync key, and it doesn't pull down anything. How do I do this? Why did I ever switch from Xmarks?

Hi,

Unfortunately Firefox Sync doesn't work as a back up service. If your data is not there, there's not much you can do at this stage.
