I have recently asked why 10.0.2 is so VERY slow. I have just now changed to 3.6.27. Works well and quite FAST - using same commands on both versions.

Something is very wrong with my earlier 10.0.2 installation, or with this software version.

I will continue with 3.6.27 until I hear that speed in 10.0.2 is verified.

Hi goranax,

Have you looked at our performance troubleshooting section? There is a lot of good information in there that should help.

Hopefully this helps!

Hi Matt_G

Thanks very much for your input. I use Windows 7. I have used Firefox since its beginning, together with IE. Always updating Firefox to its latest version. Recently after updating to 10.0.2, webpages began to download VERY slow. Also Mozilla pages. Minutes, not seconds. I have also IE and Safari (latest versions). To find out what has happened, I checked the same web-pages in IE and Safari. NO PROBLEMS with response time. At this stage, I sent my first question to Firefox support. Next step was to remove 10.0.2 and install 3.6.27. And checked the same web-pages again. No problem with response time in 3.6.27.

I did not find any information in the "performance troubleshooting section" that could assist me.

Kind regards, Goran Axelsson (goranax)

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
