I am using a Mac - OS X Lion 10.7.5, & since I downloaded version 16.0.1 of Firefox, Hotmail has become almost unusable; it just sticks on the little 'hand' & will not open e-mails; I have to constantly re-load the page to open anything. This is driving me nuts, but Chrome is almost as bad - does anyone have any solution? Is this a bug? NB: I have always had problems with Hotmail sticking in Firefox - even with Windows 7 - but it seems even worse now. (NB: I"m not providing the whole URL below as this will give access to my Hotmail inbox!).

Hi Seahorse8

try to clear cookies and cache from Tools > Clear Recent History > Time range to clear select Everything > click on Details and check Cookies and Cache > Clear Now and check it again.

thank you

Thanks - yes I know about clearing cache, cookies etc, though I hate clearing browsing history & forms - it means I have to log in again to every site that normally keeps me logged in, & I have to save or remember website addresses & passwords that I expect my browser to remember! I tried clearing Cookies & Cache anyway (though it did then throw me out of this website & made me log back in again!). (PS: Yikes, that was scary; clearing cookies seems to have totally disabled cookies altogether & I couldn't for a moment get back into my Gmail address! Not good...)

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
