How do I completely get rid of Babylon which downloaded with Firefox?
Babylon search downloaded with Firefox Download. I have removed the toolbar and altered the search and set Google as my browser but Babylon search comes up first each time I open my browser. I have reset all defaults but Babylon still comes up. I have run Malware and Super anti-spyware programs. Nothing shows.
The Babylon "program" is hiding somewhere. I also get underlines in my browser and links that I do not want. Ideas please.

Hi,
I had the same problem with Babylon. Could not locate it in Control Panel Add and Remove programs or in extensions. I found one tip elsewhere that I should try removing all of ad-ons that are unfamiliar for me until Babylon is gone but after doing it for several hours gave up.

I see you have been 'infected' with Babylon. And yes, it is hard to remove, probably even on purpose. To get rid of it, follow these steps:
- Open up Control Panel and uninstall anything related to Babylon;
- Now open up Firefox, type in your address bar about:addons, and press Enter. Again, remove anything related to Babylon.
- Download and install Searchreset
- Download Malwarebytes, install it, run a full scan, and remove anything it finds. You can uninstall it when you are finished.
You can also Reset your Firefox .
You said, Babylon search downloaded with Firefox Download. I'm assuming you meant that Babylon was "bundled" with some other software you downloaded using Firefox ..... or did you mean something else?
Anyway, in case you missed the "Tot Topic" on this, see: How to remove the Babylon toolbar, home page and search engine
For additional information, see:
I was able to get what I needed from this site. iI went to Firefox "troubleshoot" and installed an "old Version" f Firefox, as directed, and that cured my problem.
I have been working on this problem ever since i downloaded an "new version" of Firefox from what I thought was the correct site for download. perhaps not? The solution- as is true in all other things - was "simple" once i found the correct way.
Thanks to all of you for your help.

Hi Alice.
Shouldn't that link be part of this page:
Redirected to:
cor-el, How to remove the Babylon toolbar, home page and search engine Link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/remove-babylon-toolbar-home-page-and-search-engine is a new "Hot Topic" article.
Fix problems with your home page or search Link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-your-home-page-or-search is one of the old Navigation articles that is now archived (obsolete).
mark33, I'm not sure what you did to fix the problem (Did you remove your existing Firefox installation folder and download a new version from this site, mozilla.org .... as described the Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems article, in step 5. Reinstall Firefox?) Or, did you use the Reset Firefox feature, from the Troubleshooting Information page?
In any case, you should always download Firefox from mozilla.org and not from any third-party website, to make sure you aren't getting any bundled software that's not part of Firefox.
Removed and reset Firefox to "Old Version" as directed by site. It worked.
