Open a new tab feature does not work when connected to datacard and switched back wired mode

When, I connect a data card (dongle) for internet connection and switch back to wired internet, the open a new tab feature does not work.

Workaround: Restart firefox in safe mode, close and restart in normal mode

Maybe a reset can help? It does keep (bookmarks, history etc.).

SEE: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

You may also want to update firefox and see if its fixed there (unless you are using ESR).
