I am installing Trail on Firefox v25 Have downloaded the ISo key and checker but cannot make the key appear in Firefox Tools - downloads. I have modified the download window as instructed but still does not appear when I save the ISO file to itself in File - open file I get error message "fail' Any suggestions as I can do no more until I can get the download to show.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

FirefoxSafeMode

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode" Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Please report back soon.

Try to access the options of the add-on. You may have to do something from there first. Also, move your mouse to the top of the Firefox window and do a right click in an empty area. Select Customize, then see if the icon is here, If it is, mouse on top of the icon, hold down the left button, then move the icon to wherever you want.

No because I do not think I explained myself well. I have downloaded an ISO file that I need to check with a cryptographic hash which I have already downloaded. I have modified the layout of the 'download image' in order to be compatible with the 'hash' downloaded (MD% Reborned Hasher). All of this is fine. However, I could not find the ISO zipped file in 'Tools download' so I followed the instructions to save it again locally. All this does is give me a copy of the ISO file but it still does not appear in the 'Tools downloads' menu.

How do I solve this problem because I cant do the 'hash' check until I can find it in 'Tools download"

I need to explain better. I have downloaded an ISO file that I need to check with MD5 Reborn Hasher. I have changed profile to browser.download.useToolkitUI to get compatible layout of Download for hasher to work. However to be able to check the zipped ISO file with Hasher I need to find it in Tools - Downloads but I can not find it. I have followed instructions to make a local download by saving it again but all this does is to give me a copy that still does not appear in Tools - Downloads. Can you now help please?

Do which folder did you download this file?

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > General : Downloads : "Always ask me where to save every file"

Did you do a search for this file on the hard drive if you can't locate it?
