hello converger, please make sure that your system clock is set to the right date, time & timezone!

please double check that: http://time.is - the symptoms you've described that content from mozilla's CDN can't be accessed are typical for this issue.
otherwise please see what error code you are getting when you try accessing this image: https://addons.cdn.mozilla.net/static/img/app-icons/med/firefox.png?b=ab6cf06-5432a663
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer). Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
