Tooltip with img title disppears too fast
The problem was already described - in 2008. Not sure if it was fixed later, but I got hit by it now.
When I go to (for example) http://xkcd.com/, and hover over image, there is tooltip shown with title attribute of the image.
The problem is that the tooltip disappears after around 2-3 seconds - way too fast to allow me to read it.
Is there any option to make tooltips stay in place until I move the mouse, or press something?
I'm using Firefox 34 on 64 bit Linux (kubuntu).

This does not happen in beta, however there also seems to be a widget in ubuntu that controls tool tips.
The tooltip should stay visible as long as you move the mouse. I'm not seeing any issues on Linux.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
Restarted in safe mode. Same problem is visible. Not sure what else I can do to debug it.
Links from the ubuntu pages seems to be very outdated. I don't have the files or directories it specifies, and when I installed gconf-editor it didn't find any config elements with tips in name.
Are you using a possibly special branded Firefox version from the Ubuntu repositories or the official Firefox release from the Mozilla server?
You can find the full version of the current Firefox 34.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
downloaded firefox 34 from the page linked above. removed my ~/.mozilla. Started firefox from downloaded directory, went to xkcd - same effect.
