Hyperlinks in Messages Not Working
Dear Sir or Madam, I've tried everything I could reading all you various steps to try and fix this on my Windows XP system, but nothing worked. Please help. It used to work until about a month ago. I don't know if it's something to do with a repair I did to my windows system or if something changed in Thunderbird, but I can no longer just click on a link in the body of an email and a default browser window would open to that web page. I now have to right click and say "Copy location" open my browser and paste in the web address.
I am also having one other problem regarding threads in emails. I normally can search in the search box to find a previous email using a key word. Now when I search and want to open the message that has the information I want, it doesn't open that one. It just opens the inbox like I just started Thunderbird. Please advise. Thanks. (Maybe there is a way I can undo all of these "threads" and no longer have them. But I do not want the messages hidden if I do that. Thanks for your help.

What search are you using, the Quick Filter Toolbar or Global Search?
Hello,
I'm using the Global Search window.
Best,
Roy
See if that article helps. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database
Dear christ1, Thank you for that link. It appears to have fixed my global search problems. Now if I can solve my hyperlink problem, I'd be very happy. Thanks again for your help.
I went through all of those steps already. No luck.
have you actually got "Always check if Nightly is your default browser" ticked and have restarted firefox?
Windows XP is getting more and more problematical. Perhaps it is time to move on.
