firefox process continues running after shut down of firefox application
I get crash reports every time I shut down firefox. I have updated my drivers, unchecked clear history and gone through the whole she bang trying to fix this.
The firefox application shuts down, but I have to go to task manager to shut down the process, then the crash report comes up.
If I don't shut down the process it will shut down after a while and give me the crash report.
If I try to start firefox again before the process is shut down, of course it says it is still running.
More info when I shut it down here in a few seconds.

From what I have been reading from other posts on this forum, the issue may be caused by the clear history settings. It was suppose to have been fixed in v30.
Type about:preferences#privacy <enter> in the address bar.
The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.
At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}
Firefox is not crashing on my machine. It is not exiting gracefully.
The firefox browser application shuts down, but I can see the firefox process still going in the task manager.
When the process shuts down, minutes later variably, it pops up a crash report.
If I restart firefox soon after closing it, the program says firefox is still running and when I click to shut it down, it loads and also loads a crash report to deal with.
